- The difference in connect speeds between V.34 and V.FC are
- probably due to the attenuation distortion characteristics
- of your line or the ISPs line. V.34 can get you a 28.8
- connect at 3200 baud with a high frequency of 3429 HZ. V.FC
- requires a high frequency of 3520 HZ to get a 28.8 connect
- at 3200 baud. V.FC will connect at 26.4 with a high
- frequency of 3376 HZ
- As far as the download speeds I don't know if there is
- anything you can do about that. I have seen the same thing,
- but it seemed to be either site dependent or load dependent.
- If I download after 1 am the download speeds seem to stay
- up, but if I am downloading in the evening hours which is
- the heaviest usage period for the internet the downloads
- keep dropping.
